The 4th in Atlanta

Still catching up on Blog posts, still a few months behind. Back in early July we took yet another road trip, but this one to the east coast. We went back for my nephew Wyatt's wedding in Charleston and stopped a few other places on the way there and back. First up was Atlanta for the Fourth of July! We stayed at an overly crowded downtown hotel with probably 15 floors and only two incredibly slow elevators, but we were pretty close to the firework show. Maybe a little too close, but it was one of the more impressive shows I've ever seen. The next day we went back to the Georgia Aquarium and World of Coca-Cola, which we'd been to years ago, but are always a good time.

Just what he needs...

Tried all the flavors!

That's enough of a sugar overload for a day...

The Last of June and the Journey Home

After a couple weeks in Montana and a lot of great memories with family, we began the long drive home to Texas. This time we took the route that led us through Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. The parks were busy and cold, but beautiful as expected. It took around 30 hours to get home, but we're used to those long drives at this point. I can't even begin to add up the miles we've driven over the years, and I doubt we'll slow down any time soon. But I got to put a couple more pins in my National Park map, and we got to take a few more photos... as always!

The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone was quite grand, and freezing cold in June...

The Sellers Boys and the Grand Tetons.

Even saw some snow along the way... not a common occurrence in Texas.

The long drive.

We stayed in San Antonio and Paul and I went to his first major concert!

We're banditos...

The Unbe-Clayburn-hends

While in Montana, the boys obviously spent a lot of time at the Unbehend Grandparent house and in Three Forks hanging out with their Clayburn cousins. Other than going to Silverwood and Virginia City, they also had a fantastic summer just hanging around in Montana. Paul also turned the big 12 this past June... the last one before his official teenage years. Pretty unbelievable, but he at least had another great birthday with family.

Nothing like a Big Dipper cone after a short walk by the river... I went for the huckleberry, and I wasn't disappointed. I don't think any of us were though...

Lexi not looking too thrilled with me...

Stopped in to see Great-Grandpa Emil and his friend Spike!

Happy Birthday to Paul!

Virginia City and Silverwood

While in Montana back in June, the kids got to do some Montana (and Idaho) things, including taking a drive up to the theme park at Silverwood and a trip down to the ghost town at Virginia City. While in Virginia City, they did their best old west reenactments, taking a train ride, panning for gold, and posing for an old timey photo.

Not sure what set him off, but this appears to be an act of violence from Nolan...

Adam isn't so sure this type of work is going to be profitable...

I'm guessing that water was still cold in June...

Always a fun time!
