Sunday Rainy Sunday

It was beautiful this morning, the sun came up early and the breeze kept it cool, but now, as every afternoon in Florida, the rain is coming down in sheets. Thankfully we missed it by about two minutes and eighteen seconds and Paul was able to stay dry today. He wasn't as lucky yesterday, his mother had to run from the house to get into the car and he ended up with a wet head. But oh well, that's Florida. Anyway.

We did spend some time while the sun was still out at this park we recently discovered. It's been about five miles from our house all this time and we never knew it. But we decided it's time to train Paul in the art of shoe-wearing. He's not a big fan. Usually he takes them off as soon as we put them on and pops them into his mouth. But today we strapped them on with duct tape (actually velcro straps) and he left them on. So we went to the park and he practiced using his walking feet in the grass. He's moving fast and I know it's only going to be a few more weeks before he's running his feet all over the place. But he enjoyed the park, except a stray little girl decided to come along and try to carry him around the park, which he wasn't too fond of. She pushed him on the swing and lugged him around until he started to cry. So that was fun.

But since this blog is about updating the world on Paul, here he is, by the numbers:

Eight: the number of teeth currently residing in his mouth, with two on the way

Six to Ten: the average number of steps he can take before falling

Seven: the number of dish pans that are normally scattered around the house by the time I get home from work

9,216: His age at the time of this posting, in hours, if he were a boat, it'd be time to scrap him

Eleven: the number of words he currently speaks (balloon, mom, dad, key, ball, cat, dog, cookie, bye-bye, hi, weeeee!)

5: the number of hot dogs he consumes in an average week

3 to 5: the number of new items of clothing he gets from the Children's Place in a normal week

So there you have it. He's growing like a weed, and we're just trying to keep up. But that's the point I guess. Anyway, keep checking back and hopefully we'll have more pictures and videos!

The First One

I suppose I should write something like, "this is our first post and we're trying to figure this out" or maybe something like, "since everyone else has a blog we decided to get one too, so stay tuned to hear all about our interesting lives!" Because they're so interesting. Like just today we went to Target. Yeah, we bought light bulbs and blank CDs to burn pictures for my mother. Is that not amazing? Aren't you glad that you stopped by to learn about that? So I'm being sarcastic I suppose, but maybe we'll use this spot to inform you all (and by that I mean all three of you, or the unlucky person who happened to be clicking through blogs and came across this one) about all the fun stuff we do! So "stay tuned" for more!
