A day for Dad...

Occasionally, even Dad gets a day.  It was father's day recently, and honestly we didn't do much, but that's perfectly alright.  We did take the short drive up to Rockport Beach to hang out in the sand and water.  Otherwise, just hanging out with the boys on a normal, lazy Sunday is good enough.  Here are a few pictures from the past few weeks.

Just kicking some sand around...

The cool kid.

Who doesn't love popcorn?

Since he's pretty fearless near the water, we decided this was best.

Always been the happy one... especially when he's got a drink in his hands.

It's been hot... but not too hot for Farrah and Adam.

Summer is here, and you won't hear us complaining about it!  Sunshine and warm water!

The oldest boy...

Our oldest son is now seven years old.  Unbelievable.  That just makes us feel old.  From Jacksonville to every city and state in between, he's been with us all along.  He just finished up first grade and it's already clear he's headed for great things.  He's a superstar reader, a math whiz, a kid of many friends, and a boy we couldn't be prouder of.  He's a huge helper for his mother, occasionally nice to his little brothers, and he's always looking for the next exciting thing to entertain himself and to keep from bouncing off the walls.

 Here he is at seven.

And here he was... not so long ago.

Gotta get presents.

Looking fabulous and sun tanned (slightly burnt) at the beach.

And just looking fabulous in general.

Flea Market Fun

Last month we also took the short drive up to San Antonio to check out this flea market I heard about from a can of Mountain Dew.  Yes, you can learn a lot from a can of Mountain Dew.  The coupon was for unlimited rides at this place called Trader's Village, which has a few locations around the state.  Unfortunately, the coupon was expired, but we still went to check it out anyway.  I didn't check to see if the Mountain Dew was expired, though I got it out of a machine at work and it was kind of covered in grimy dust... so it's highly likely.  It still tasted like nectar from the heavens (as my father would say).  Trader's Village turned out to be a lot of fun, or at least for me, Paul, and Adam.  Nolan was a little small for the rides, and Becky didn't find much to buy at the vendors... though she was inspired to become a flea market entrepreneur herself.

Not a whole lot of size difference in these two anymore...

Adam's favorite ride! GET TO THE CHOPPER!!!

Riding high in the sky... Paul rode this by himself the first time and it didn't seem that high until we were looking way up at him.  I guess he's not afraid of heights.

Even I rode this one... though Becky said I looked a little ridiculous and possibly a bit too big for it.  She's always so kind.

Adam excited... Paul noticing his buckle is not in place... best hang on.

Overall it was a good time!  Paul must have rode the bumper cars about two dozen times, and I screamed like a small child on the tower ride that slowly takes you up and then drops you in terror toward the concrete.  And for only $10/each for unlimited rides... it was pretty cheap entertainment!

We missed May...

In almost seven years of doing this blog, I think we've only gone one or two months without making a post... which means we've made a lot of posts.  Hopefully, a few family and friends out there still enjoy seeing what the boys are up to these days.  But we missed May, so here is what went on:

The weather has gotten warm, and that means it's time to bust out the water guns and sprinklers.

And grow our mustaches out...

But playing outside sometimes means you might get a rock in your shoe... or a few hundred.

But just approach it like Nolan does... with a squint and a grin.

He's getting big... but he's got a ways to catch up to me.

Enjoying the wind on North Beach.

Just being brothers.

And again...

And even if spring baseball season is over around here... Nolan isn't ready to give it up

Future slugger...

And now it's getting hot down here, with the humidity rising and the sun shining bright.  Looks like Spring is just about over!
