Flea Market Fun

Last month we also took the short drive up to San Antonio to check out this flea market I heard about from a can of Mountain Dew.  Yes, you can learn a lot from a can of Mountain Dew.  The coupon was for unlimited rides at this place called Trader's Village, which has a few locations around the state.  Unfortunately, the coupon was expired, but we still went to check it out anyway.  I didn't check to see if the Mountain Dew was expired, though I got it out of a machine at work and it was kind of covered in grimy dust... so it's highly likely.  It still tasted like nectar from the heavens (as my father would say).  Trader's Village turned out to be a lot of fun, or at least for me, Paul, and Adam.  Nolan was a little small for the rides, and Becky didn't find much to buy at the vendors... though she was inspired to become a flea market entrepreneur herself.

Not a whole lot of size difference in these two anymore...

Adam's favorite ride! GET TO THE CHOPPER!!!

Riding high in the sky... Paul rode this by himself the first time and it didn't seem that high until we were looking way up at him.  I guess he's not afraid of heights.

Even I rode this one... though Becky said I looked a little ridiculous and possibly a bit too big for it.  She's always so kind.

Adam excited... Paul noticing his buckle is not in place... best hang on.

Overall it was a good time!  Paul must have rode the bumper cars about two dozen times, and I screamed like a small child on the tower ride that slowly takes you up and then drops you in terror toward the concrete.  And for only $10/each for unlimited rides... it was pretty cheap entertainment!

We missed May...

In almost seven years of doing this blog, I think we've only gone one or two months without making a post... which means we've made a lot of posts.  Hopefully, a few family and friends out there still enjoy seeing what the boys are up to these days.  But we missed May, so here is what went on:

The weather has gotten warm, and that means it's time to bust out the water guns and sprinklers.

And grow our mustaches out...

But playing outside sometimes means you might get a rock in your shoe... or a few hundred.

But just approach it like Nolan does... with a squint and a grin.

He's getting big... but he's got a ways to catch up to me.

Enjoying the wind on North Beach.

Just being brothers.

And again...

And even if spring baseball season is over around here... Nolan isn't ready to give it up

Future slugger...

And now it's getting hot down here, with the humidity rising and the sun shining bright.  Looks like Spring is just about over!

Springtime Boys...

Spring is in the air, and the boys are growing faster than we can keep up!  Becky wanted to get some pictures of them dressed a little nicer than usual, so we took advantage of Easter weekend and took a few pics.  So here they are...

Brothers being brothers... gotta love these kids.

Easter and Other Things

Another spring, another Easter!  The boys had a blast at a couple of different Easter eggs hunts, and of course got way too much candy in the process.  It's been a beautiful April, and a sunny and warm spring so far.

What's better than candy filled eggs??

It wouldn't be Easter without the smell of vinegar and the boiling of eggs...

Went up to Rockport to the Fulton Mansion to hunt down even more eggs...

Got a few!

We also caught our first Corpus Christi Hooks game of the season!

Got to march around the field with all the rest of the little leaguers!

Been to the aquarium a couple times already.  Nolan was thrilled.

But he does like wearing Paul's helmet!

Went to the airshow down in Kingsville... Paul manned the guns...

Enjoyed the Windfest parade!

And rode the carnival rides at Portland's annual festival for the wind!  It's been a great spring, but we can already start to feel the summer coming!

Big Number Four

Adam Michael turned the big four years old a couple of weeks ago! This kid is about as sweet (and rotten) as they come.  He's always willing to share whatever it is he has without a second thought, and he's always willing to agitate his mother and baby brother any chance he gets.  He's already a gamer, with much love for the iPad and even old Super Nintendo games, but he'll also run circles around the trampoline and show off new tricks (which normally consist of throwing himself on the ground in dramatic fashion).  He's a great little brother, a tolerable big brother, and an amazingly wonderful son that's impossible not to love.

He wanted a "Mindian" Birthday... which is sort of like a birthday with lots of minions from Despicable Me.

Got lots of presents... and even got to be a "Mindian" himself.

Even the little brother got to be a "Mindian."

Yep, that's right... four.

Gotta love some ice cream and cake!

So a huge thanks to everyone for making his birthday special, with presents, cards, and even cookies!  Now if only we could keep these kids from growing up so fast!
