Oh, unreal Christmas Tree!

Every year, Becky tries to convince me to buy a real Christmas tree from one of those Christmas tree sales places in the Walmart parking lot.  Unfortunately, this year it wasn’t going to work out and it would have been more of a hassle than it was worth.  All of our Christmas decorations and ornaments and the like are in boxes in Texas.  We are still in Georgia.  So we stole an idea from our neighbor friends and made the boys a felt tree.  Overall it was a fun thing to do, and it turned out pretty nice.

We even strung the lights around it! Except they fell off after a few days...

 The smallest elf...

Nolan's first Christmas is already coming up on us fast!  Too bad he'll never remember it, though I'm sure he'll have a good time.

A sunny winter...

A couple of weeks ago we went out to St. Simon’s Island… again.  There are really not that many places to go around here, so we tend to go there often.  It definitely doesn’t feel like winter here, that’s for sure.  Sunshine and warm weather do not equal December where I come from anyway.  We took a few photos of the boys out on the island, because that’s also what we do.  Here they are.

The always "up to no good" Sellers boy.

 The boys and their mom.

Hanging out on the rocks.  This was as close to the ocean as Adam would let us get.  He's not a fan of the waves.  Not sure how that's going to play out growing up in Corpus Christi, but he does hate having to wear pants, so that will be one good thing about Texas.

Just hanging out in the sunlight with Nolan.

The youngest... but getting bigger everyday.

Took shelter from the unusually warm, winter sun in this gazebo.

Super Baby!  Here to save the day! Or just sleep through most of it.

Been here, done this...

We’d been there before, but since there’s never a lot going on in Brunswick, we decided to go back to Fort Frederica.  Conveniently, it’s a national monument, so our America the Beautiful Pass got us in for free.  It’s a short drive out on St. Simon’s Island, and though there’s not too much to see, it was a good place to let the boys run around in the grass on an otherwise beautiful fall day.  The weather is finally very nice down here, cool mornings and sunny afternoons... can't beat that.

Boys on a cannon, unusual for this blog.

British Soldiers.  Salute!

Nolan didn't mind a thing.  Just kickin' back in his stroller, taking a nap.

Why does this seem familiar to me?

Oh, maybe that's why... four years ago we did the same thing.  One of us looks substantially older.  I should have thought about it beforehand, because I still have that same shirt.

Good day, Sir! I say, you do look marvelous in that hat.

Redcoats... uh, in Crocs! Warn the colonists!  The British are coming!  The British are coming!

And then there's Son #3.  Just an extra photo of him to share.  He's definitely his oldest brother's littlest brother... if that makes any sense.

Turtle Treat

Last weekend, we went out to the Sea Turtle Center on Jekyll Island for their Turtleween celebration.  It was a chance for the boys to get dressed up in their costumes and do some exciting Halloween activities.  There was a hay ride, fishing for water pollution, turtle cookie making (no actual turtle ingredients used), and they even got to pet an alligator and a couple of snakes.  The sea turtles were pretty incredible also.  They had eight or ten of them that had been injured in some way or another and were being brought back to health before being released back into the ocean.  Pretty cool creatures to check out, plus - lots of Halloween candy.

Mmmm... turtle cookies.  This poor turtle spent six months in rehab only to be devoured by this Great White Shark shortly after being released.

Ninja's and Pirates!  Sounds like the making of an amazing summer blockbuster!

This pirate needed a wicked cool tattoo on his cheek... like a sea turtle, naturally.

What is thy bidding, my master?  You're about to get ninja chopped...

And finally, here's Paul with this year's costume winner... it took this guy months to put together this costume he called "The Uncle Josh."

Good times, and fun for the kids.  And when you spend the money on the costume, you might as well find as many opportunities as possible to use them!

Pickin' Pumpkins!

Becky found a pumpkin patch out on St. Simons, so we stopped in and picked a couple out.  Halloween is already just around the corner, which only means it will be the holiday season before we know it.  But for now, we’re enjoying Fall… even if it feels far too warm to actually be Fall.

Adam will take... uh, this one!

That one is a little too big, Paul.  Better get one more your size.

Next up, costumes, candy, and that whole trick-or-treat thing.  Another fun fall for the Sellers boys!
